About Us
Our
Company . . .
Cassady
Pierce is a leading and well respected wholesale distributor of residential and
commercial exterior building products. Independently owned and operated for over
63 years. We have been servicing the needs of the professional roofer, remodeling
contractor, builder, general contractor, and retail home center markets in Western
Pennsylvania, Northern West Virginia, and the Eastern counties of Ohio.
Our
History . . .
The
original Cassady Pierce Company had its beginning in 1947, when two former Phillip
Carey salesmen, Harold Cassady and Nelson Pierce; opened a roofing only wholesale
business on the Northside of Pittsburgh, PA.In 1951, Herb Smith, a roofer and
sheet metal worker, opened Commercial Service Company in McKeesport, Pa. This
Company specialized in the wholesale distribution of roofing, gutters, and siding
products to the contractor trade.Dennis Kelleher, a graduate of Fordham University
and a successful entrepreneur, purchased the Commercial Service Company from Mr.
Smith in 1973. After two very successful years at the helm of the Commercial Service
Company, Mr. Kelleher, in 1975, decided to buy the competing company of Cassady
Pierce. This purchase would give him two distinct bases of operation in which
he could service and expand his business markets. Later that same year, he secured
a larger building and warehouse facility in which to operate the Cassady Pierce
business. This building now serves as the Cassady Pierce Main Office and Corporate
Headquarters. Our
Growth . . . 1983.
. . | | The
Commercial Service Company moved its operation from McKeesport to Greensburg,
Pennsylvania. This decision was necessitated by a series of deteriorating economic
conditions occurring in the McKeesport and Mon Valley area. At the same time,
it would offer the Company a chance to take advantage of the growth opportunities
in Greensburg, and access to the eastern counties of Westmoreland, Somerset, and
Indiana. | | | | | 1989.
. . | | Addition
of the Architectural Window Division. New warehouse, offices, showroom and blueprint
detailing facility. | | | | | 1990.
. . | | Opened
Baldwin facility in April of 1990. Situated approximately nine miles south of
Cassady Pierce North. Its geographical location offered easier road and customer
access to Pittsburgh's Southern suburbs, including enhanced remodeling and new
construction opportunities in northern Washington County.
| | | 1998.
. . | | In March,
a sales and warehouse facility was opened in Oakmont, Pennsylvania. It was strategically
located between our Pittsburgh, Baldwin, and Greensburg facilities. It would serve
as a satellite hub to triangulate service between those areas, as well as, provide
additional business in the eastern area of Allegheny County.
| | | 2005
. . . | | In
an effort to pursue additional remodeling and new construction opportunities in
Southwestern Pennsylvania, we opened an operation in Washington County. This major
sales and distribution facility would provide us the opportunity to service the
contractors, builders, commercial roofing accounts and home centers in Southwestern
Pennsylvania and the northern counties of West Virginia.
| | | 2007.
. . | | A
decision was made in December, 2007 to close our Oakmont Branch due to inadequate
land and warehouse space. In an effort to continue to expand and pursue additional
business opportunities, it was our intent to build a larger facility in Butler
County to meet our growing needs.
| 2008
. . . | | Built
and opened a new state-of-the art sales and warehouse complex in Butler County,
located in the town of Saxonburg, Pa. This facility features a 30,000 square foot
warehouse and is situated on eight acres of land that will provide us with ample
storage, and room for future expansion.
With the addition of our Saxonburg
location, Cassady Pierce is strategically positioned to operate and ship into
five distinctive marketplaces in Western Pennsylvania. And as we move forward,
our six Regional Sales and Warehouse facilities will allow us to provide superior
service to our customers in Northern and Southern Allegheny, Butler, Washington,
and Westmoreland Counties. |
Our
Mission Statement . . . To establish Cassady Pierce as the dominant and
preferred supplier for exterior building material needs of the contractor and
builder markets in Western Pennsylvania.
Our Customer Goals . . . We
know that the success and growth that we have achieved is due in a large part
to the efforts, the hard work, and the continuing loyalty of our customers. As
a company, we will focus our efforts, energies, and resources on meeting the needs
of our customers. We will constantly strive to provide the value added services
that will differentiate us from the competition.
